Now that crank-ins are happening again, did you know you can get financial support from CSKMS to underwrite the costs of organizing your CSM gathering? The application process is easy and the requirements are simple and reasonable.
Who can get a grant?
Grant applicants must be current CSKMS members in good standing. (Crank-in attendees need not be members.) Grants are for up to $500 per crank-in.
What expenses are allowed?
- Rental fees for the venue where the crank-in will be held
- Money to hire teachers and/or CSM mechanics
- Money to pay for transportation or lodging for teachers and/or mechanics
- Advertising or printing costs
What expenses are not allowed?
- Payments to the crank-in organizer or vendors
- Lodging or transportation for crank-in attendees
- Food or beverages
- Damage deposits
- Entertainment
What must the grant winner do in return?
- Provide CSKMS membership information at the crank-in
- Submit receipts for all expenses
- Send photos and a newsletter article to CSKMS after the event
- Refund grant money if the crank-in is canceled
