What’s new in…
Memberships
We continue to add new members. To continue with modern trends, we no longer accept checks as a form of payment. We accept PayPal and Credit Cards. To pay with a Credit or Debit card, click the “Check out with PayPal” and on the next screen, follow the “Pay with Credit or Debit Card” prompts.
The Website
We have been tweaking and adjusting small things to try and improve the overall experience. Maybe you’ve noticed the new Avatar option on your member profile page. See below for more on this.
Forms
We recently updated all our forms on the site. They have a modern look and updated functionality. Behind the scenes, your form submissions go to the appropriate board members but also get tracked in a spreadsheet to help ensure nothing gets lost. We also adjusted the best way to contact the board. Too many emails were getting lost in SPAM so we removed direct board members’ email addresses from the site and created a Contact Us form. Member Directory
This previously was a manually updated spreadsheet shared on the site. To improve the privacy of our members and ensure the directory is up to date, we are using a function of our Membership plugin that automatically keeps the directory up-to-date and is only shared with active members. We are working with the vendor that created the plugin to help improve some of the search and map features. Currently, the map on the Directory landing page is not searchable. You can still search the member directory. The search function is not as powerful as Google, but it does work. If you are looking for members in Minnesota, you will get the best results if you type MN in the search. Again this is a work in progress but we know Members have been asking for a way to find other Crankers near them.
Another new feature lets you add a photo/avatar to your member profile.
You must be logged in to do this.
- Search for yourself in the Member Directory.
- Scroll down past the map, and click “View Profile.”
- Scroll to the bottom of your profile, and click “Edit Profile.”
- On the Edit Profile page, scroll to the bottom and click “Choose” to upload an image.
