Update: Certification Program, Level 1 – Beginner
The first of the 20 course participants this year have started submitting their samples and written answers for judging! It is early in the program to have people finished already. But as of May 17, 2021, three of the 20 course participants have submitted their work for judging.
I’m thrilled to tell you that the three who submitted have passed the course!

Participants are judged by a panel of three judges. I serve as the final judge. And when someone passes the course, I send their samples back to them with this beautiful pin, designed by CSKMS Board member and 2020 Beginner Certification Course graduate, Dorinda Balanecki.
Conversations and questions continue in the course’s private Facebook group, with participants supporting and encouraging each other, and judges stepping up to help answer questions, as well. The atmosphere in the group is very collaborative with many thoughts, ideas, and questions posted; encouragement offered; and celebrations shared. Not everyone is keen on Facebook, but it has been a tremendous aid to communication, and a number of the course participants joined Facebook just so they would have access to the course’s private Facebook group.
The Beginner Certification Course is very popular—26 people are already on the “Interested” list for the next course!
