At People In Glorious Socks
February 2023 – Ankeny, Iowa
Four Dean & Bean 3D printed circular sock knitting machine owners participated in the recent PIGS. Mary Watson from D&B delivered my rainbow color CSKM. She helped me set it up, which was simple and easy to understand. Then, a-cranking I went.
Mary also showed me how to spray my machine with a dry lubricant. Mary Watson, Jen, and Vicky also attended the crank-in, using their D&B machines. Jen and Mindy, each finished a sock, learned how to pick up dropped stitches, move weights while working on a heel/toe and change the gauge. We all remember those days…
My machine had a 60-needle cylinder. I worked on making a hand puppet during the crank-in while visiting with people I have not seen since LAMBS. I also met new crankers, Jen and Vicky, among others.
These crank-ins are an amazing way to learn tips and tricks from others, while having a ton of fun. A few other crankers made puppets and we each compared notes. Hopefully a pattern will be on the CSKMS site soon. These are photos of puppets made by Glenace, Vicki, and me. Until the next crank-in, happy cranking everyone!! Dean and Bean are hosting a crank-in April 14-16 in Kansas City. Refer to their website deanandbean.com for more information and registration.

The puppet is adorable! Looking forward to seeing the pattern.
