How did you learn about CSMs? A friend mentioned it and then I researched it. I did not enjoy making the dreaded second sock!
How did you learn to crank? For three years or so I did a lot of tubes. Then, went to the crank in at Cape Girardeau, MO and Jamie helped me learn so much! Made my first sock there and I was a convert!
Ribber preference: I have not done a lot of ribber but hope to do more with my new TruKnit!
What do you like most? The ability to make something that looks amazing!
Favorite item to make: Socks, socks, socks and neck warmers.
Favorite yarn: I use so many, I currently do not have a favorite, but appreciate the hand-dyed sock yarns.
Cranking advice: If you are having difficulty, ask for help immediately. Once you make a sock, your confidence will help you figure out things in the future.
Can you knit with sticks? Yes
Pet peeves or turn-ons? It is hard to find an adjustable stand so I can sit or stand easily.
Been to a crank-in? Yes
What else should we know about you?
I want to be able to size my socks more regularly and I believe that will be easier using the Tru-Knit rather than a caliper. I recently crocheted Granny squares for an online class through The Mercerie in the UK. It has been interesting and I learned several crochet stitches. I hope that this skill will enable me to enhance the projects I make with my CSM. I really appreciate all of the patterns and videos you have in the CSKM Org library. I enjoy the crank-ins to meet people and learn the tricks/tips that others have learned along the way. A shout out to those who are always so helpful and willing to look at a machine or project to offer comments. Thanks to everyone and I look forward to continuing with this awesome group.
