Started cranking: 2015

How did you learn about CSMs?

A friend, who has cranked for years and years, harassed me until I bought one and started.

How did you learn to crank? YouTube videos mostly

Ribber preference: I own and use both. If I buy a new one, I order an equal slot.

What do you like most? It is a soothing and rewarding hobby. I love a one day, beginning to end, project with such a high value reward. Who doesn’t like these socks?

Favorite item to make: 1×1 ribbed cuff with mock-rib leg, adult socks

Favorite yarn: Opal

Cranking advice: Hand knitting skills are not as big a help as you want to assume. Don’t be in a rush when you start, it is going to take time to learn. Buy the big jug of oil. It’s only a ball of yarn. Breathe!

Can you knit with sticks? Yes

Pet peeves or turn-ons? I like watching the yarn carrier go around and listening to the sound of the machine working. A pair of new socks finished ready to wear in under 3 hours, Wow.

Been to a crank-in? Yes

What else should we know about you? I went through the Skill Certification Program the second time it was offered and a personal goal is to do the next level when offered. I like to help new crankers when ever possible. I think the most amazing thing I have made since I started cranking is ‘friends’ The people who are attraced to this hobby are special, kind and giving in an outstanding way.
