Newsletter: Prez Sez
Whew… what a couple of years it has been, and for some no end in sight.
For many, it was hard to focus on cranking or knitting or whatever fiber pursuit you enjoy. And we felt the pressure and stress, whether in work or personal life.
But we pushed on! We need to continue pursuing things that bring us joy, or maybe we are cranking to support a charity mission.
During those early times it was difficult to focus on a bigger picture. But maybe, a different purpose could help. I have seen so much growth in our community – especially over the last year with an explosion of regional CSM activity. I hope together we can harness some of the growth and enthusiasm.
Your CSKMS could use some help. We are a small group of volunteers. 11 board members at the moment, more or less active as life and work permit. This, like most is a working board. That means all of our board members take on a role – president, treasurer, secretary, web guy, membership gal, newsletter editor, certification program go to etc etc etc. Hard as we try, we struggle.
We struggle to find meaningful content for the newsletter. Board members contribute what they can, but a newsletter it might not make. This is your newsletter. What would you like to see and could you contribute something?
Could you serve on a committee? Are you good at organizing an event? Review documentation? We could use your help. This is your society. Make it the best it can be. Help shape it what you want it to be.
We as crankers are familiar with the call to knit our bit, our boys need sox.. well, this is my call for help. Board elections are coming up. Please consider running. And if you aren’t interested in an official Board position, you can still join a committee, contribute content to the newsletter, and be active on the CSKMS Facebook and/or Ravelry groups.
We appreciate you, our membership and we are here for you to support you in your pursuit of your cranking goals. And taking this member survey will help us help you.
