How did you learn about CSMs? I was a flatbed machine knitter and heard talk of csms.
How did you learn to crank? Pat Fly helped me get it going (purchased on eBay from Canada and it didn’t work); watched youtube videos – especially Icandyarn videos; purchased Roxanne Baechle’s cds; went to a crank in
Ribber preference: Equal slot
What do you like most? such a good feeling when a sock comes out great
Favorite item to make: socks; hope to make scarves on the Bumblebee
Cranking advice: Go slow and make lots of notes. Try to learn something new every day. Learn how to use ravel cord. In flatbed knitting, we used it with every project. It’s invaluable to me.
Can you knit with sticks? Yes
Pet peeve: Having to remove needles vs taking them “out of work” like we did in flatbed.
Turn-ons: I love putting on the bonnet, slowly and carefully.
Been to a crank-in? Yes
What else should we know about you? I’d like to make more socks and use up some of my enormous sock yarn stash. I want to learn how to make scarves on the Bumblebee with lace ends, either made on the machine or taken off and knitted by hand. I have 3 flatbed knitting machines, but I haven’t used them in a while. I also do a lot of machine embroidery and have three of those.
