Favorite yarn: Regia & Opal
Can you knit with sticks? Yes
How did you learn about CSMs?
Saw a group of ladies with their machines cranking at the local yarn store.
How did you learn to crank?
Lots of YouTube videos! I was lucky enough to attend the Spokane Crank-In a month after purchasing my machine. I learned ALOT at the crank-in.
What do you like most?
Socks in an hour or less instead of weeks. It lets me focus on knitting other things.
Ribber preference: Both. I have a 36 slot for my 72 cylinder and a 64 slot for my 64 cylinder.
Been to a crank-in? Yes
Cranking advice:
1. Find a mentor & work one-on-one with them. It’s hard to figure out on your own why you’re dropping stitches. 2. Watch lots of YouTube videos. The YouTube series called Gertie & Me was my favorite. 3. Prepare for a HUGE learning curve & prepare to spend some money!
Pet peeves or turn-ons?
No pet peeves because I’m relatively new to this craft. Loved the Spokane Crank-In I went to last year. I learned so much! So sad it was cancelled this year. We have small informal crank-ins monthly which I really enjoy. Again, you learn more when you are with others.
What else should we know about you?
One day I hope to sell my socks.
