Ravelry: fremontgimp
Fremont, WI (about 45 miles SW of Green Bay)
Started cranking: Summer of 2022 after I bought a “box of parts to a knitting machine” at a local auction.
How did you learn about CSMs? I saw one years ago at a local arts and craft show.
How did you learn to crank? Google search. You Tube. Old manuals
Ribber preference: I think mine are half the cylinder number but we haven’t made friends yet
What do you like most? Using something that is 100 years old and still works well.
Favorite item to make: Besides socks, I like making headbands
Favorite yarn: I don’t think I have a favorite yet
Cranking advice: I am still a new cracker so don’t know what all I don’t know.
Can you knit with sticks? Yes
Pet peeves or turn-ons? Turn on making a heel without dropping stitches
Been to a crank-in? No
What else should we know about you? I just retired in January of 2022 after working 41 years as a Registered nurse. My husband and I hope to snowbird possibly next winter and I hope to take my 1920-1922 Gearhart CSM with me. My husband and I like to restore old cast iron skillets and bring them back to a usable clean condition.
